The Bartlett Park District is a member of Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA). NWSRA is the leader in providing outstanding recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. NWSRA’s team of full-time Therapeutic Recreation professionals and trained part-time staff offer a multitude of year-round program offerings. Increased self-esteem, physical and social skills development, making friends, and having fun are just a few of the benefits of participating in NWSRA programs.

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The Board of Commissioners of the Bartlett Park District is committed to complying with all applicable provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for the purpose of eliminating discrimination against individuals with disabilities and to allow them to fully participate in society. The District supports the ADA Act, which provides exclusion of qualified individuals with a disability from employment, services, programs, or activities of any state or local government, including park districts. The District wishes to have its services, programs and activities available to employees, applicants, participants, beneficiaries, and other interested persons as defined by the Act.
We ask individuals with special needs for inclusion into programs to notify us of their needs at least two weeks in advance. This will allow us time to make sure that proper staffing, equipment, and facilities are in place for a successful and safe program. By informing us early, you are helping us to work toward a smooth inclusion for everyone’s benefit.
The Bartlett Park District has an internal grievance system for prompt and equitable resolution of grievances alleging any action by the Bartlett Park District that would be prohibited by the A.D.A. or the applicable Title II Rules. Managing Food Allergies
The Bartlett Park District is committed to the well-being of participants and providing a safe, fun environment. We cannot guarantee a 100% allergy- free environment, however we will manage the situation by creating individualized plans, avoidance strategies and emergency measures to minimize the risk of an allergic reaction.
