“The Bartlett Youth Soccer Association, in conjunction with the Bartlett Park District, offers a recreational soccer program that exists to provide opportunities for all youth to develop a love for soccer and acquire soccer skills, teach good sportsmanship, promote a spirit of cooperation and friendship through equal participation for all players, in a positive environment.”
The recreational soccer program is organized and run by a partnership between the Bartlett Park District and the Bartlett Youth Soccer Association (BYSA). The BYSA is a group of volunteer board members and coaches who are dedicated to providing a positive soccer experience to every child who enrolls in the program.
The soccer program is designed to appeal to a wide range of soccer abilities, from introducing the game to novices with no prior experience, to challenging more experienced players. During any given season there may be over 1,000 children involved playing on over 70 teams. This requires the talent and effort of a large team of willing volunteers.
The BYSA Board of Directors is a group of 15 energetic volunteers who provide the backbone of the youth soccer program. They are responsible for all aspects of the program, including but not limited to; team formation, communicating between teams and age groups, planning special events such as Picture Day, Chicago Fire night and National Night Out, exploring ways to improve and expand the program, and much more.
We are always looking for new board members in a variety of different positions so if you’re interested feel free to contact us and attend our next board meeting to find out more.
