Slider Puzzles

This type of puzzle was invented more than 100 years ago by Sam Loyd. It was called a 15 puzzle because there were 15 tiles that must be moved in order to solve the puzzle.

To start: choose a puzzle to solve by clicking on the desired picture below. The puzzle will be displayed in a new window.

To play: click the GO button to scramble the puzzle. The click the tiles one at a time to move them and rearrange them.

The goal: rearrange the tiles so the picture is restored.
